Aries

Aries is the pioneer of the zodiac. Aries want to always be the first to do something. It is a cardinal, fire sign. Aries represents the first month of springi, and as such it can be very self-sensitve and easily discouraged, just like an early flower in spring can be hurt by a late frost. Taurus

Taurus is the second sign of the zodiac, a fixed, earth sign. Taurus can be very practical and concerned with material realities. Taurus is very sensual and may love to enjoy pleasures of the body. Taurus can also be stubborn because, after all, their way is the right way. The planetary ruler of Taurus is venus, the symbol for Taurus is a bull, and a traditional association is the farmer. Taurus is pleasure-loving but stubborn.


Gemini

Gemini is the third sign of the zodiac, a mutable, air sign. Gemini is represented by the Twins, and Gemini people are often of two minds. Gemini is the communicator of the zodiac, always talking with others. The planetary ruler of Gemini is Mercury, representing the sign's use of the mind. A medieval type for Gemini is the jester, whose livelihood depended on the use of his mind. Gemini's are so interested in everything that it is difficult for them to remain focussed on one thing for very long.

Cancer


Cancer is the fourth sign of the zodiac. It is cardinal and water. Carcer's are very nuturing and motherly for both sexes, even though this behavior is more difficult for the males to express. Cancer is very emotional, and often like a crab, hard on the outside and soft inside, and the symbol is a crab. The planetary ruler of Cancer is the moon, and like the tides, a Cancer's emotions can shift back and forth. A medieval association for cancer is the mother.


Leo

Leo is the fith sign of the zodiac, a fixed fire sign. Leo represents the king, and Leo can be a very noble sign, though their may be some problems with ego-inflation. Leo can be very dramatic, always putting on a good show for their subjects, and very protective of them as well. The planetary ruler of Leo is the sun.


Virgo

Virgo is the sixth sign of the zodiac, a mutable earth sign. An important keyword for Virgo is service. Virgoans find people important, and often remain behind the scenes while the Leo's are taking the credit for the work the Virgo actually performed. They are interested in health and nutrition, and can become overly concerned with these matters to the extent of worrying. The ruling planet of Virgo is Mercury; the Mercury-ruled Gemini tends to see the forest and miss the trees, whereas Virgo sees the trees and misses the forest.


Libra

Libra is the seventh sign of the zodiac; it is cardinal and air. Libra is the diplomat or negotiator of the zodiac. The symbol for Libra is the scales, always balancing two opposing options. Libra does so well at seeing both sides of a question that it sometimes has difficult deciding which option to choose. Libra is concerned with harmonious relationships between people. Representing this idea, the ruling planet is Venus.


Scorpio

Scorpio is the eighth sign of the zodiac;it is a fixed water sign. Scorpio is represented by several symbols: the Eagle, the Scorpio, and the Serpent. Scorpio's can either be very, very good (like the little girl that had a curl right in the middle of her forehead) or very very bad (for example, Charles Manson and Jack the Ripper). Sagittarius

Sagittarius is the ninth sign of the zodiac; it is mutable fire. Sagittarius finds it very dificult to tell a lie, and are known for being blunt. Sagittarians are the philosophers of the zodiac, always concerned with the Big Picture, the Philosophical Idea. A medieval reference is the lawyer. The symbol for for Sagittarius is the mythical centaur, an archer half human and half horse. The ruling planet for Sagittarius is Jupiter.


Capricorn

Capricorn is the tenth sign of the zodiac; it is cardinal and earth. Capricorn tends to be old when they are young and get younger (or more youthful) as they get older. A traditional image of Capricorn is of two steps forward and the one step backwards: they never give up, but can be very persistent. The planetary ruler is Saturn, and the symbol is the mythical capricorn, a half-goat, half-fish. A medieval role for Capricorn i the father.


Aquarius

Aquarius is the eleventh sign of the zodiac, fixed air. Aquarius is concerned with people in groups, large masses of people, but can sometimes have difficulty with people as individuals. They are extremely future-oriented. Aquarius is the inventor or scientist. The planetary rulers of Aquarius are Saturn and Uranus. The two rulers indicate the dual nature of the sighn, both inventive and conservative. The symbol is a Water Carrier.


Pisces

Pisces is the twelfth and last sign of the zodiac; it is mutable and water. Pisces are very sensitve the the things and people in their environment. sces are also emotional, vulnerable and imaginative. Pisces is represented by two fish, tied at the taills and swimming in opposite directions. A medieval role for Pisces is the mystic. The planetary rulers are Jupiteri (traditional) and Neptune (modern).
